Islandderry Trout Fishery, located on the Lough Road Between Dromore & Lurgan next to gamblestown , provides a serene fishing experience all year round. Our fishery is home to Rainbow Trout and Triploid Brown Trout , ranging from 1.5lb to 16lb & Try A Unique Experience to Catch Pike on the fly all year round & via dead bait in winter !. Whether you're a seasoned angler or new to fly fishing, you'll find our location perfect for your needs.
At Islandderry Trout Fishery, we are dedicated to providing a serene and engaging fishing experience for anglers of all skill levels. Nestled in a picturesque location, our main 10 acre pond which has varied depths from 4ft - 11ft in places & is stocked with a variety of Trout, Triploid Brown Trout & some Pike , ensuring an exciting catch for everyone. Or perhaps our smaller 1acre 15 foot pond suits you better - stocked with rainbow trout & brown trout 1lb - 4lb Perfect for spending leisure time with friends or family, our site offers top-notch facilities and a welcoming environment where cherished memories are created. We at Islandderry Trout Fishery have listened to our Anglers.!.
From Sunday 01st February we are Allowing Pike Angling at our lake.  Main lake only.
Please Note - Dead Bait Angling will be bank only & will be 08:00 - 18:30.  Restricted to 6  Anglers using 2 rods maximum October - April Only.
Fly Angling for Pike will Be all year round.
All Pike Angling Must be Pre - Booked , there will be no exceptions to this .!.
All Pike Anglers must have long nosed pliers - De Hooking Mat , & the relevant equipment at all times before fishing.
We have de hooking mats  & long nosed pliers available to rent £5 per day.
We do not stock dead bait.

🚨We Must Advise there will be no 2 strikes on anyone not following the lake rules.🚨
Pre Booking 24 hours in advance - there will be NO Option to simply turn up  you WILL be turned away !
You can book in via 07312 186868 or messenger between 08:00 - 17:30   No messages after this will be answered until the following day.
This is Capped at 6 Angler Per Day - As our Fishery is Primarily Fly Angling for Trout.
All Rubbish / line etc must be taken to bin.
We as a fishery have opted to trial dead baiting for Pike on our lake  during 2026 with the view of allowing each winter moving forward but this is being monitored closely  & will only continue if Anglers show signs of respect & care whilst enjoying the sport.

Why did you introduce a 4 hour ticket ?

We listened to Anglers who had voiced a suggestion that could benefit those Anglers who do not have the time or perhaps strength to fish a full day.

As such we are pleased to announce we have created our four hour catch & release session here at the fishery on the main lake only.

Why are you Closed Wednesdays

We Close the lake on a Wednesday to primarily rest the lakes & to give us time to carry out day to day maintenance  

How often do you stock & with what species?

We aim to stock fortnightly - 3 weekly periods for the Main lake & Monthly for the Bubble & Fly lake.

We stock Rainbow Trout & Triploid Brown Trout only although there are some natural colours & pike within the lake.

Why do you not allow alcohol at the lake ?

As a Family Orientated Fishery - We do not allow Alcohol to be consumed on our premises

Anyone caught Consuming Alcohol will be asked to leave immediately.

What method of bait fishing is allowed at Islandderry ?

On our Small Lake Only we allow Bait Angling strictly by bubble float & fly with barbless hooks.

This is primarily for those that cannot fully fly fish & is a fun way of catching & releasing fish safely , we do allow a 1 fish kill ticket on this lake.

We provide the Rod & Equipment for this method of fishing.
